Personal Growth ,What has 2018 Taught You?

Have you ever felt that you needed to be somewhere in your life, right now? That if you weren’t where your family, friends, colleagues or (perhaps most importantly) you thought you would be at this point in your life? It’s so easy to convince yourself that you’re a failure sometimes. But what about personal growth? Have you thought of the progress you’ve made on a personal level?

One of the most important things to consider when you think about personal growth, is that everyone is different. We would go as far as to say that it’s paramount. You cannot, and should not, compare yourself to others. What you should rather do, is contemplate where you are in your own journey – and you should be mindful of where people are in their journeys too. Have you progressed? Regressed? If it’s the latter, try to find the places you have stumbled – and then recalibrate.

Yes, now it’s time to make things happen. Focus on your goal (we mean really focus: Visualise your success), and then set out a plan. Do you want to procrastinate less? Learn new skills? Become more positive? We all have inherent tools to deal with personal growth issues and we know ourselves best, so now apply those tools. What are they? Positive visualisation, honesty, self-assessment, a clear mindset, etc.

Another personal growth tool: Perseverance. Even if your progress seems slow, it’s important to keep chipping away. Think on this quote from Abraham Maslow: “One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again.”

Did you know that one of the best ways of ensuring personal growth is looking after your physical health? An improved diet and strong body invariably lead to a clear mind. Good gut health will result in an improved mental state – all the better to take positive decisions.

Remember, once again, that personal growth is a journey. You just need to keep taking steps forward.
